Education
Create functional, safe, and inspiring learning environments that support student engagement and well-being. This includes selecting furniture, finishes, and color palettes that enhance focus and creativity, designing layouts that optimize flow and flexibility, and ensuring all spaces meet accessibility and safety standards. The goal is to collaborate with educators, community members, and stakeholders to tailor the interiors to the school’s educational goals, age groups, and community needs—ultimately shaping spaces that foster learning, collaboration, and a sense of belonging.

Jackson-Wonder Elementary
West Memphis, AR
Jackson-Wonder Elementary is a new K-6 public school that brings together students from L. R. Jackson and Wonder Elementary Schools. It serves about 700 students and offers innovative learning spaces that extend beyond traditional classrooms. The courtyard design connects with nature, providing lots of natural light and secure outdoor areas for dining and learning. To ensure comfort and safety, the large building is divided into smaller sections, creating friendly spaces suitable for different grade levels. Studies were done to limit unsupervised interactions between students from different grade levels.
As the lead interior designer, I managed space planning, finish selection, and documentation of all interior drawings. I worked with the school board, teachers, and community members. I also created a graphics package that showcased the school and community's cultural history.
JCM and Field House
Jackson, TN
At the Northeast ridge, Jackson Central Merry Middle/High School’s new entrance honors its history while focusing on its mission. The design emphasizes project-based learning and modern classroom needs. Classrooms support student-focused learning with adaptable layouts. The hallway features collaboration hubs for discussion and spontaneous interactions. Bright, open spaces with natural light inspire creativity, while multi-purpose areas can host sports, arts, or maker activities. The design extends to an on campus Field House which boasts a gathering lobby with murals and memorabilia and a gleaming new gymnasium to host basketball, volleyball, and other sports. JCM Field House will serve as a new community beacon and civic gathering place.
I was responsible for developing and documenting the interior architecture and design layout of public spaces, both inside and outside. This involved choosing finishes and collaborating with the design team on graphics throughout the school.
